Back-to-School Home Organization
Back to school: a love-hate relationship. Love because the kids get to reunite with friends and learn again, but it’s also challenging. Life can get super busy and chaotic when you’re jumping between school events. And your home cleanliness? It often takes a backseat (understandably). You and your family need (and deserve) to come home and feel relaxed, so here are 3 organizational tips you can implement in your home to prepare for the craziness!
Here are 3 tips for this upcoming school year:
Create functional spaces to store/hide items — Your family is going to be constantly on the go, so it won’t be long until it looks like the Tasmanian Devil from Looney Toons had a go at your home. The more preemptive planning measures you take, the easier it’ll be to keep your home tidy. Adding in shelving, storage bins, hooks, and baskets around your home can all be a part of your game plan.
Designate specific areas for specific activities — Use a bench in your entryway specifically for removing dirty shoes, clothing, or other gear; create a snack station; organize the laundry room so it’s easy to wash clothes; or create a station for homework and studying. Designated areas can keep your home organized since there’s no reason for supplies to be removed from their spot.
Set up a schedule station — Organization doesn’t just stop at physical organization — it also includes mental organization! Setting up a “schedule station” with whiteboard calendars, grocery lists, notepads, and any other form of communication can save everyone a lot of headache and misunderstandings.
We hope this helps!
